What is an L-Shaped Loft Conversion
Also known as a dog leg dormer, this type of loft conversion consists of two adjoining dormers connected at right angles to form an L-Shaped structure.
This type of design often creates the largest amount of space compared to other conversions and can be configured to include multiple rooms. Moreover the additional roof space this creates in terms of square footage can often be the same as or close to that which you have on the first floor of your property.
Generally speaking the larger end of the L-shaped dormer structure is built into the main roof of the property and the smaller end of the dormer is built into the roof at the rear of the property (e.g. rear extension), and ordinarily facing a neighbouring property.
